NAMI Offers Free Education Class

There is now a new offering by NAMI - National Alliance on Mental Illness - to everyone in Rutherford County.

NAMI is in Rutherford County and offering a free 12-week Family-to-Family education class. The arrival of NAMI-Rutherford County is truly a blessing. 

The illnesses covered by the program include: Major Depression; Bipolar Disorder (Manic Depression); Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD); Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorder; Panic Disorder; Borderline Personality Disorder; Co-occuring Brain Disorders and Addictive Disorders. It is not only a very beneficial program but remember, it's free!

The persons who it will benefit most are parents, grandparents, spouses; siblings, adult children and friends of someone you love who may suffer from any of these disorders. No one should should be sensitive about signing up.

Over 150,000 people in the United States and Canada as well as Mexico have signed up and completed this course, all to their benefit. 

This free class is limited to 20 participants, so it is wise to sign up as soon as possible. For more information or to register, call affiliate President Betty Frye at 704-583-0845. Classes begin on Thursday, September 16th. They will be held at United Way of Rutherford County, 668 Withrow Road in Forest City, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
