Nannie Dills Reid, age 89

Nannie Dills Reid, age 89, of Forest City, passed away on January 27, 2018.

Born July 26, 1928 in Swain County, a daughter of the late Tollie Dills and the late Elizabeth Frady Dills. Nan enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables. She also loved her many farm animal pets. In her later years, reading was her favorite hobby. She was a member of Tanners Grove United Methodist Church. Her lifetime of hard work included working on the family farm, textiles, and being a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hicks Reid, brothers Henry Dills, Wade Dills, Vincent Dills, Fred Dills and younger siblings who passed in childhood. She was also preceded in death by sisters Rosie Cabe, Thelma Price and Wilma Lowe.

She is survived by two sisters: Mary Pauline Justice of Forest City and Flonnie Jolley of Rutherfordton. Numerous nieces and nephews.

The graveside service was conducted at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Forest City. Memorial donations may be made to Tanners Grove United Methodist Church; 151 Tanners Grove Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
