Nellie Jenkins Gilbert

Nellie Jenkins Gilbert passed away Tuesday January 22, 2019.

Nellie was born January 1st, 1929 in Rutherford County to the late Grady Jenkins and Nellie Elmore Jenkins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Hollis Gilbert, and her brother Earl Jenkins.

Nellie was a hard worker until the age of seventy-five. She retired after thirty-two years of service at Rutherford Hospital where she was honored Silent Hero and Employee of the Year awards. Her greatest love and passion were serving her Lord, Jesus Christ and exemplified that in caring for her friends and family.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Vicki Pope of High Point, one grandson, one granddaughter, four great grandchildren and her sisters Sandra Briscoe and Mary Lou King of Forest City.

Nellie's funeral was held at Spindale Church of the Brethren, Spindale. Memorials to: Spindale Church of the Brethren, 128 Sterling Street, Spindale NC, 28160.
