NFL regular season coming to an end

Well, it's Christmas time! Basketball is in full swing. The NFL and College Football season will soon come to an end. While I am at it, here are my top 9 rankings for both NFL conferences and my top 3 bowl games with an ACC team in it.

The AFC top 9 (at least three of these won't make it to the postseason.)

1)New England: The most dangerous team despite anything you throw at them.

2)Oakland: If there is a weakness, it's a young defense that allows too many points and the Kansas City Chiefs. 3)Kansas City: They just have a knack to beat Oakland this year head-to-head. 4)Pittsburgh: Which one is the easiest to defend Roethlesberger, Bell or Brown? No matter how you choose...your all wrong! By the way, winners of five in a row now. 5)Tennessee: Can win with strong defense or in an offensive rout. Young overall, but won four of the last five. 6)Denver: Playoff hopes slipping. Defense still solid, offense is lacking. 7)Baltimore: Pretty good QB, somewhat spectacular on defense at times. Somewhere in the middle lies the truth. 8)Miami: Just won with Matt Moore at QB. Run game and defense not bad. 9)Houston: Talented in spots on both sides of the ball, but where is the QB?

The Top 9 NFC

1)Dallas: Talented all the way around and showing it every week. 2)New York: The Giants still play defense well and are the only team to beat Dallas so far this season (twice). 3)Green Bay: Talent-wise, not far off from Dallas. Inconsistency is the issue. 4)Atlanta: The Falcons might have the most explosive offensive in the NFC when Julio Jones is at full strength. 5)Seattle: Revert to Green Bay. 6)Detroit: Have nine wins, but Dallas and Green Bay are up next. Ouch! 7)Tampa Bay: They keep getting better every week. A scary underdog. 8)Washington: If they only had a consistent running game and stopped allowing 20-plus points a game (review last 6 games), I'd like them even more. 9) Minnesota: Defense looks incredible one week and horrible the next.

College Football

3) North Carolina at Stanford: It might all depend on who has the ball last. UNC has looked very good against Pitt and terrible against Duke. Which team shows up is questionable. If the Tarheels don't show up, the Cardinals Christian McCaffrey could be in for an unbelievable game.

2) Florida State at Michigan: The Seminoles have Dalvin Cook and Michigan has Jabrill Peppers. Can FSU play well enough defensively and what kind of tricks will Coach Harbaugh throw at the 'Noles?

1) Clemson versus Ohio State: These two clubs are talented. Clemson's offense is more explosive. Ohio State's defense has been more dependable this year.

Holiday Tournament Basketball

East Rutherford's Boys and Girls will be at Chesnee on December 28-30.

R-S Central Boys and Girls will at Freedom from December 27-29.

Chase Boys and Girls will be at Cherryville from December 28-29.

And finally, Brad Hutchins will be R-S Central's new Head Football Coach. Hutchins succeeds Mike Cheek, who retired at the end of this season.

There are some things that make sense with the decision. Hutchins was apart of Cheek's staff from 2005-2009 and has coached the middle school football team ever since.

Like every year, Merry Christmas!
