Ola Gordon Shytle, age 81

Ola Gordon Shytle, age 81, of Forest City, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018.

Ola was born October 9, 1936 in Rutherford County to the late Clyde Gordon and Willie Bridges Gordon. She was a graduate of Harris High School, class of 1954 and worked in textiles for thirty years. She also worked as the breakfast manager at Hardees for ten years. Ola was a faithful member of Chase Baptist Church and had a heart to serve others. She was also an avid Clemson Tiger football fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Higgins; son, Buddy Lee Cooper; four sisters, Myrtle Owens, Francis Baynard, Hazel Rogers, Rose Watkins; four brothers, Datus Gordon, Edgar Gordon, Dean Gordon and Dan Reid Gordon.

Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Bonnie Cooper of Forest City, Beverly Ann Owensby (Dennis) of Forest City and Becky Lynn Krisky (Joe) of Arden, NC; two sons, Billy Cooper (Pam) of Landrum, SC and Bobby Dale Cooper (Karen) of Mill Spring, NC; one sister, Myrlie Barrier of Rutherfordton and a brother, Jim Gordon (Pat) of Forest City. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted at Chase Baptist Church. Inurnment will take place at Eternal Hills Memorial Park on a later date.
