Oratorical contest winner

Gabe Turner, a junior at Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, is the winner of the Division 5 American Legion High School Oratorical Contest held in Hickory Saturday, February 13. Gabe previously won the Post 82 contest in Shelby and the District 23 contest in Kings Mountain. He will now compete in the State level contest March 5 which will be held in Marion, North Carolina. If he wins the state contest,Gabe will advance to the national competition.

Gabe is the son of Tommy and Connie Turner of Ellenboro. He plans study music in college.
