Owls slide backwards, Coastal Carolina continues to surprise

It looks like Cleveland rocks again. Finally. A championship.

I would have never thought the Cavaliers would have came back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals, but things worked out. Golden State had two key injuries and they missed Draymond Green for one game. Still, Cleveland deserved to win. It's the first time in two years that Golden State has been beaten three games in a row. Nobody has ever lost three games in a row in the NBA Finals after going up 3-1. It's nearly impossible to overcome that deficit.

Two key plays in game seven during the final minutes. A blocked shot by Lebron James from out of nowhere kept the game tied at 89 and a Kyrie Irving triple gave them the lead for good.

The Forest City Owls started out 5-2, but have since went 2-5 to give themselves an even 7-7 record. They are now a quarter of the way through the schedule and sit fifth in the Coastal Plain League West Division. So far, their three biggest wins have came against Lexington County (twice) and Wilmington. Both of those teams sit in the top half of their divisions respectively.

Forest City hasn't shown to be a high powered offense, but their pitching hasn't been bad. For though they have 15 errors in 14 games. Strangely, they seem to lose the games when they have few or no errors. They have already played a four error night and won. Adam Ordonez leads the way with 16 hits in 37 at bats.

While we are on college baseball, I must say that I love the College World Series. When it was in Rosenblatt Stadium, maybe the CWS meant a little more, but Coastal Carolina has made it to the big show.

Coastal has now defeated N.C. State in two games, LSU in two games and downed the No.1 team in the land, Florida in the opening round of the CWS.

When I watched them the previous weekend at LSU, I knew this was a special team. They can pitch, play defense, but maybe even more impressively, knock the ball around the park. The Chanticleers have went 37-7 since going 13-9 to start the season and they had a solid schedule by playing Virginia and Ole Miss early.

I honestly thought Florida was the team to beat coming in after destroying FSU in the final two games in a three game Super Regional. However, I knew Coastal would come to play, no matter who stood in their way at the CWS. Coastal had never had a Super Regional win coming into the postseason, they now have swept a Super Regional and won in Omaha on the biggest collegiate stage baseball wise. I would love to see them pull off the upset and win the whole thing, but it will not come easy.

Finally, NASCAR driver, Mike Wallace and his daughter were beaten senselessly last weekend at an innocent Rascal Flatts concert in Concord, NC. The three men who allegedly attacked the pair were arrested and let go before Mike and his daughter were released from the hospital. What justice is their in America people? I only mention this because his brother Kenny is furious. Kenny is one of the nicest and funniest people I have ever met and interviewed. I hope the Wallace family finds some justice and the two who were hurt recover quickly.

The Cup Series heads to Sonoma for a little road racing this weekend. I will take A.J. Allmendinger for the win. I'm serious!
