The Forest City Owls Baseball Club announced today the hiring of Breynna Winkler as the Director of Ticket Sales & Community Relations.

The Director of Ticket Sales & Community Relations will have an active role in the community and work with non-profits, youth sports teams and groups of all sizes as well as putting on events and fundraisers at the stadium and throughout Rutherford County.

Breynna recently graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a Sport Management degree in August of 2012. Breynna worked for the Owls during the 2012 season as an Operations Intern. During her time at Gardner-Webb Breynna played basketball all four years and finished her career with a regular season championship and a conference tournament championship which took the team to the NCAA Tournament.

“I am thrilled to add Breynna to our staff,” says Owls General Manger Jeremy Boler. “I know Breynna will do a terrific job this year. She is going to make sure everyone who comes to any Owls game is having a great time! Breynna worked extremely hard this year and deserves this opportunity. She is a great addition to our staff and fits in perfectly with the Owls organization.”

Winkler’s primary objectives are to increase group attendance and to continue establishing the Owls as a key member of Forest City and Rutherford County. Working with the other front office members, Winkler aims to eclipse the single season attendance record by bringing over 70,000 fans to McNair Field for the 2013 season.

“I am extremely excited to be a part of the Forest City Owls Staff this season,” adds Winkler. “Going from an intern last summer to a full time staff member this season is an honor and a blessing.  I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to work with for this upcoming baseball season.”

During the season, Winkler will be active all over the ballpark, adding to an already entertaining game day atmosphere.

“I am looking forward to seeing all of the returning fans and some new faces this season at the ball park,” said Winkler. “We are going to be bringing some fun and exciting surprises this year so get ready for a fun filled summer!”

Fans will be able to meet Breynna and all of the Owls members on Opening Night, set for Tuesday, May 28th. A limited number of season tickets are still available for the 2013 season. Season Tickets begin at less than $5 a game. For more information about any of the Owls ticket plans, please call the Owls front office at 828-245-0000 to speak to Breynna or visit www.forestcitybaseball.com
