Patricia Ann Morgan Crain, 75, of Rutherfordton, passed away on April 23, 2018.

She was born April 25, 1942 in Rutherford County. Patricia was a faithful member of the Shingle Hollow Congregational Church and devoted her life to helping others as a nurse for more than 2 decades before retiring to spend the remainder of her life with her husband and family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 59 years, Donnie H. Crain; son, Mark Crain and his wife, Teri; son, Mike Crain and his wife Sherry; Daughter, Martina Taylor and her husband Kenny; son, Anson Crain and his wife Denene; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 special aunts, Ruby Wingo and Lois Hutchins; 7 siblings, Doug Robinson, Mick Robinson, Stan Robinson, Debbie Carter, Toney Robinson, Tony Morgan, and Tim Morgan; and a special friend Carolyn Marlow.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Robinson; her father, Floyd Morgan; her grandparents, Mr and Mrs. Morris Morgan; 1 uncle, Roy Morgan; 2 aunts, Elizabeth Randall and Frances Ross.

Patricia, known by her family and friends as "Pat", had three great loves in her life; God, her family, and music. She shared her love of God with her family, and so many more, through her music. She was a faithful pianist at Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church for 41 years. Her practiced and perfect playing seemed to invite the spirit of God directly into the church. Her talent touched the lives of many. Just like the piano that she loved so much, her journey was filled with bright white keys of pure and joyful sounds. It also had its share of black keys that were sharp and painful. No matter what notes were playing, her faith never wavered. All those notes together made her life a beautiful song in service to her Lord. Even in the final measures of her life-long symphony, she would find the strength to softly sing Amazing Grace as if she were speaking directly to God. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing that just like the keys on that piano, her music here ended with the highest note when she entered heaven's gates singing a new song that will last for all eternity.

The funeral was held at Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church. Rev. Jack Crain and Rev. Jamie Pascarella officiated. Graveside services followed. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.

Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the family.
