Patsy Billingsley Scott, age 68

Patsy Billingsley Scott, age 68, of Forest City, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016.

Born on Wednesday, November 19, 1947 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Frank Thomas Billingsley, Jr. and Gladys Mae Johnson Billingsley. Patsy was a homemaker and was known for her sweet spirit and her willingness to help those in need. Her gentle spirit was displayed in how she treated her pets and any other living creatures such as her hummingbirds. She especially loved her family and adored her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Scott and son, Bruce Edward Cantrell.

She is survived by one daughter, Alisa Cantrell McLaughlin of Black Mountain, NC; four sisters, Betty Lockridge and husband, Marshall of Shelby, Jane Henson of Bostic, Joyce Limerick and Jean Deviney and husband, Wayne all of Ellenboro; two brothers, Ted Billingsley of Pennsylvania and Larry Thomas Billingsley of Shelby; step-son, Brandon E. Smith of Marion. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Sammy McLaughlin, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. A private burial will be conducted at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
