Paul E. Armstrong, age 72

Paul E. Armstrong, age 72, of Forest City, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016.

Born on Tuesday, December 28, 1943 in Greenville, TN, he was a son to the late Baettie Rhea Armstrong and Rose Belle White Armstrong. Paul served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for Fast Foods Industries for over twenty years before retirement. Paul was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and the University of Tennessee Volunteers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include two sons, John Armstrong and wife, Jennifer of Mooresboro and Robert Armstrong also of Mooresboro; four granddaughters. He is also survived by three sisters, Kay Allison of Oak Ridge, TN, Linda Armstrong of Maryville, TN and Susie Sharp of Knoxville, TN; three brothers, Horace Scalf of Roanoke, VA, Dewey Scalf of Murray, KY and Jerry Armstrong of Maryville, TN.

A graveside service was conducted at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Marvin Greene officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday.
