Paul Francis Lee, age 94

Paul Francis Lee, age 94 of Forest City passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017.

Paul was born on November 23, 1922 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Reuben James Lee and Ethel Thompson Lee Hollifield. His father was the first motorcycle officer with the Rutherford County Rural Police and was killed in the line of duty in August of 1923 when Paul was just nine months old. Paul was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Forest City and one of his greatest joys was fishing and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Grant Lee in 2012 as well as brothers and sisters, Clyde Lee, Claude Lee, Bill Lee, Jennie Lee McBrayer, Ray Hollifield, Robert Hollifield, and Edna Roberson.

Survivors include a half-sister, Lois Goforth and husband J.P. of Forest City as well as two nephews, and two great-nieces. The family and close friends of Paul are especially appreciative of the dedication and loving service of his longtime friends and caregivers, Diane Causby and Betty Calton.

A memorial service was held in the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Neil Haynes and Reverend Wesley Judy officiating. Inurnment took place in the church columbarium. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Choir Fund; 341 East Main Street, Forest City, NC 28043.
