Phyllis Epley Cantrell, age 65

Phyllis Epley Cantrell, age 65 of Forest City, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

Phyllis was born July 26, 1953 in McDowell County, and is the daughter of Mary Stott Epley of Forest City and the late George Kermit Epley. She was a 1971 graduate of East Rutherford High School and a longtime active member of Crestview Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School and was involved in various church activities.

Phyllis worked for sixteen years in the Outpatient Department at Rutherford Regional Medical Center where she retired.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Billy W. Cantrell of the home, her son, Eric Steven Edwards of Forest City, her daughter, Stephanie Motley of Forest City, and her brother, Jerry Epley and wife Susie of Bostic. There are also three grandchildren, as well as one great-grandchild.

The funeral service was held at Crestview Baptist Church. Interment followed at Montford Cove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
