Polly Marie Beam Branch, age 92

Polly Marie Beam Branch, age 92 of Forest City passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018.

She was born January 30, 1925 in Rutherford County and was daughter of the late Paul E. Beam and Tina Bell Green Beam. Polly was a member of Florence Baptist Church where she was active in church activities and taught Sunday school until her health declined. As a minister's wife, she faithfully supported her husband and his ministry where ever they were called to serve. Polly worked for Skyland Textiles, Deb Manufacturing, and worked for many years at A.V. Wray Department Store in the Tri-City Mall. In her retirement, she worked as a cashier for Smith's Drug Store.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Elmer Branch, her son, Terry Branch, brothers, Wade Beam and Charles Beam and sister, Carrie Beam Young. Survivors include two sisters, Farrie Jo Holtzclaw and husband A.C. of Rutherfordton, Mary Frances Glover of Knightdale, NC, two grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Judy Branch of Florida, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Florence Baptist Church. Rev. Dr. Bobby Gantt officiated. Interment followed in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
