R.B. Lawson, age 73

R.B. Lawson, age 73, of Forest City, NC, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012.

 R.B. was born February 25, 1939 in Rutherford County, NC to the late John Bailey Lawson and Florence Mace Lawson.  He was a veteran of the US Army.  He worked for GF Business for twenty-five years, Fasco Controls for seventeen years and was a welding instructor at Isothermal Community College for twenty-eight years.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking and was a longtime member of Sandy Mush Baptist Church. 

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Harriett Ledbetter, Dorothy Morrison, Katherine Moore and Hazel Virginia Dotson. 

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years, Jacqueline Flack Lawson; three sons, Vince Allen Lawson and fiancée, Sue of Athens, AL, Dwayne Edward Lawson and wife, Mayumi of Stem, NC and Jeffery Stephen Lawson and wife, Bonnie of Rutherfordton; one brother, Robert M. Lawson of Forest City.  He is also survived by six grandchildren.

 A graveside service was conducted at Eternal Hills Cemetery with Reverend Neil Perry officiating. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC  28043.
