Raymond Arnold Guffey, 69, of Shelby, NC went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Services were held at Cane Creek Baptist Church, Rutherfordton. Burial followed in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
Mr. Guffey served our country in the US Army.
Mr. Guffey was preceded in death by his parents, James Wilburn Guffey and Dora Lee Owens Guffey; brothers, J.C. Omir, John, and Leroy Guffey and sister Sue McCurry.
He is survived by two sons, Richard Guffey and wife Kathy of Rutherfordton, NC; Mark Guffey and wife Kimberly of Palmer, Alaska; one daughter, Angie Standish and husband Robb of Shelby, NC; two brothers, Preston and Ronald Guffey of Rutherfordton, NC; and eight grandchildren.
Crowe’s Mortuary of Rutherfordton, NC is serving the family.
