RCS Announces Administrative Changes

The Rutherford County Schools Board of Education three administrative personnel changes at its January board meeting.

Effective Feb. 1, 2016, Mrs. Angel King, who currently serves as principal at Spindale Elementary School, will serve as the school district's director of elementary education. Mrs. King began her teaching career as a science teacher at R-S Central High School in 1989. She was named assistant principal at Spindale Elementary School upon earning the Master of School Administration degree as a North Carolina Principal Fellow at Western Carolina University in 1997. In 2004, Mrs. King became principal of Spindale Elementary School. She was recently honored as the 2016 Rutherford County Schools Principal of the Year.

Effective Feb. 1, 2016, Mr. Brandon Hill will serve as principal at Spindale Elementary School. Mr. Hill began his teaching career with Rutherford County Schools in 2003 as an eighth grade math teacher at East Rutherford Middle School. He earned the Master of School Administration degree from Appalachian State University in 2009 and was named assistant principal at Spindale Elementary, where he served in that role until 2012. Since June 2012, Mr. Hill has served as assistant principal at East Rutherford High School.

Effective Jan. 19, 2016, Mrs. Tammy Beach will serve as assistant principal at East Rutherford Middle School. In December 2015, Mrs. Beach earned the Master of School Administration degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She has taught at the elementary and middle school levels since beginning her teaching career in Alexander County fifteen years ago. Mrs. Beach comes to Rutherford County from Gamewell Middle School in Caldwell County, where she has taught math and science since 2007.
