Rebecca Ann Vaughn, age 71

Rebecca Ann Vaughn, age 71 of Forest City passed away Monday, June 6, 2016.

She was born on August 12, 1944 in Cumberland County, NC and was a daughter of the late Chester S. Woods, Sr. and Willie Lou Jones Woods. Rebecca was a member of the Adaville Baptist Church and the widow of John E. Vaughn, Sr. While traveling with her military husband and children, Becky went back to college and received her nursing degree. She worked for many years at Belk's Department Store in the Tri-City Mall where she retired.

Survivors include a son, John E. Vaughn, Jr. and wife, Danielle of Forest City; a daughter, Debbie V. Davis and husband, Mitch of Laurens, SC; a brother, Chester S. Wood Jr. of Colorado; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Jonathan Cobb officiating. Interment followed in the Adaville Baptist Church Cemetery.
