What began as a job following returning home from the war became a lifelong passion not only for C.L. Fox, but for his son, Larry, who leads Fox Distributing in Shelby.

There has been something on my mind lately. Multiple people have asked me what I thought was wrong with NASCAR. While I do continue to follow the sport, cover events, I do still want to be positive about it since I have a lot of respect for those for who do that line of work and those friends of mine who are in the business.

This time of year I always try catching some pan fish. I really enjoy this slow, unhurried outdoor activity. It's especially good after managing the deadlines of deer and turkey seasons, and an occasional bass tournament. There are no seasons for bluegill and crappie. If today is unsuccessful maybe I'll go tomorrow; or maybe not. And there is nothing like fried fish from these varieties. Yes, fried.
