July 3: Independence Day Celebration in the Hickory Nut Gorge- This fireworks display can be seen from two different amazing spots - gorgeous Morse Park Meadows and the serene Beach at Lake Lure! The Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge will be selling 4th of July treats, baked goods, and snack food by the Welcome Center, or you can enjoy ice cream, snow cones and more at the food court across from the beach entrance. Bring the whole gang and some lawn chairs - the beach opens at 8 p.m.!

July 4: 4th of July Freedom Festival, Downtown Rutherfordton- Join us for a whole day of patriotic celebration for everyone, starting with a walking parade at 3:30 p.m. featuring honored veterans, members of the police and fire departments, town officials, and kids! Nothing says "America" like dunking booths, watermelon eating contests, cornhole, hot dog vendors, fresh lemonade and of course, festival food. July 4: 4th of July Independence Day Celebration at Rumbling Bald Resort- Lake Lure's Rumbling Bald Resort boasts an incredible fireworks show, but even before it begins, they arere celebrating this July 4th with games for kids, music, a cookout on the resort's private beach, a parade of golf carts, and more! Fun starts at 9 a.m. and "Lake Lure's Best Fireworks Show" starts at 9:30 p.m.! While beach access is only open to resort guests and residents, public boat viewing of the fireworks display is welcome and encouraged.
