Rev. Shirley Jean Broughton age 71

Rev. Shirley Jean Broughton age 71 passed away Sunday April 10, 2016.

A native of Hampton, VA she is a daughter of the Late John Davis Broughton, Jr. and the Late Anna Belle Harris Broughton.

Shirley was very active in local volunteer work, which included The Rutherford County School System, The Rutherford County Transit Authority, and The Stainless Ministry. She was a graduate of Chamberlain High School in Tampa, FL and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother Boyce Broughton and sister-in-law Rebecca Broughton of Tampa, Florida; sister Loyce Broughton and niece, Erin Geese, of Union Mills, NC; and a number of other relatives, friends, and church family.

A celebration of Shirley's life was held at Crowe's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leon Brown officiating.
