Rev. William Franklin Bowen, Jr., 90

Rev. William Franklin Bowen, Jr., 90, of Morganton NC, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012. 

Rev. Bowen was a retired Baptist minister, a veteran, having served in WWII and a member of Camp Creek Church. He was born in Perth Amboy, NJ to the late William Franklin Bowen, Sr. and Elzora Hodge Bowen. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ruby Bowen, and a daughter Vicki Owens.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters; Catherine Moss of Blacksburg, SC, Lillian Fritts of Lexington, NC, and Mazie Wooten of Wilmington, NC, his son-in-law Charlie Owens of the Camp Creek Community, 3 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held at Camp Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony McCraw and Darold Crawford officiating. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Camp Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 145 Josephs Road, Union Mills NC, 28167.
