Revonda "Bunt" Conner, age 84

Revonda "Bunt" Conner, age 84, of Forest City, being surrounded by her family and friends, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 4, 2015.

She was born February 16, 1931 in Catawba County to the late Claude A. Deese and Annie Hall Deese. Prior to retirement, Revonda worked for the Tanner Company for thirty-two years. She also taught sewing classes at Isothermal Community College, which enabled many women to be employed.

She was a faithful member of Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church where she served as pianist for sixty-nine years. Her God-given talent blessed many lives and she gave God the glory throughout her faithful service. Revonda also served as Sunday School Secretary, Director of Vacation Bible School and was an active member of the Senior Citizens group, serving as the group's treasurer and trip coordinator. Over the years Revonda also played accompaniment several Southern Gospel singing groups. Revonda enjoyed playing music with and for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved cooking and sewing for her family and working in her yard. Vacations and camping with family and friends were always a time of fun and joy for her. She and her husband of sixty-six years, Alton traveled during their retirement years. Together, they shared a full and blessed life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Conner; three brothers, Homer, Wallace and Norman Deese; two sisters, Margaret Ray and Gaynell Parker.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Sheila Wilson and husband, Gene of Rutherfordton, Geary Conner of Forest City and Debbie Craig and husband, Bill of Hickory. She is also survived by one brother, Paul Deese and wife, Edith of Clover, SC and one sister, Millie Hennessee and husband, Earl of Bostic. With great love, Maw-Maw will be forever remembered and missed by her five grandchildren, Tracie Malcom, Mark Wilson, Angie Causby, Jennifer Craig, and Christopher Craig along with her eight great-grandchildren. Affectionately, Aunt Buntsey will be remembered and held in the highest regard by her many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Raina Crowder, Sheila Wilkerson, Kathy Tuttle, Susan Harris and all the Hospice Staff for their compassionate care and support.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Poe Jones and Reverend Mike Cash officiating. Interment followed at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
