Rhuleen W. Petty, age 96

Rhuleen W. Petty, age 96, of Pauline SC, formerly of Rutherford County, passed away January 7, 2018.

Born November 4, 1921 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Summie Roe Whitaker and Mamie Wilson Whitaker. She was a graduate of Ellenboro High School and a long time member of High Shoal Baptist Church. She was very active in the church and served in the Cradle Roll Class and in the church choir. Rhuleen was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary #9539 in Roebuck, SC. She was a homemaker and dedicated caregiver to many of her family members. Rhuleen had a heart of compassion and love for others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, James Z. Petty and a granddaughter. She was the oldest of seven siblings who all preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving daughter, Joyce L. Fincher; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandsons; 3 great-great-granddaughters, several nieces and nephews.
