Robert "Bob" Sluder, age 78

Robert "Bob" Sluder, age 78, of Rutherfordton, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018.

He was the son of the late Roy and Ora Sluder and a native of Virginia.

Robert loved his family dearly, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Robert served over 14 years in the US Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by a grandson. He liked NASCAR and his favorite driver was the late Dale Earnhardt. Robert was a big Carolina Panthers fan and he had a loving heart for animals. He enjoyed watching old westerns.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years: Ruth Sluder. One Daughter: Diana Sluder and her fiancé Tim Cole. Others he considered his family: Brittany Condrey and her daughter Fallynn, Sage Kimbrell, Anthony Cole, Brad Cole and his wife Kaitlin; Ashley Cole and her son Kaizer Blake Hodge.

The Funeral service was held at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was held at Gilkey United Methodist Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
