Robert Edward "Bud" Gibson, Sr., age 71

Robert Edward "Bud" Gibson, Sr., age 71, of Forest City, passed away, Monday, November 23, 2015.

A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Richard E. Gibson and Pearl King Gibson, a retired maintenance worker with PPG, and a veteran having served in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Ellen Gibson, a brother, Samuel Gibson, and a sister, Nina M. Young.

Survivors include sons, Robert Gibson, Jr. and wife Denise of Rutherfordton, Richard Gibson of Forest City, a daughter, Janice M. Gibson of Forest City, a brother, James R. Gibson of Canton, two sisters, Susie Thomason and Doris Messer, both of Canton, 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
