Robert F. “Bobby” Helms

Robert F. “Bobby” Helms of Gastonia, NC passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015.

He was born November 16, 1948 and was a son of the late Robert J. and Edith Penson Helms. A former employee of Duke Power Company and currently was a supervisor for Pike Electric. Bobby was also a member of Concord Baptist Church in Bostic.

Survivors include his daughter, Laura Helms Merrill of Kings Mountain, NC, and Kelly Elliott of Stanley, sisters, June Haulk of Fletcher and Marty Helms and husband Ken of Bostic. There are also two grandchildren, Caroline Murray, Carson Merrill, and Alana Smith as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Travis Laflin officiating. Interment was private for the family in the Cool Springs Cemetery.

The Padgett and King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
