Robert Gordon Gammon, age 68

Robert Gordon Gammon, age 68 of Forest City passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019.

Robert was born in Swain County, NC on October 16, 1951 to his parents, Pauline Deal Gammon and the late Robert Wilson Gammon.

Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church of Forest City and a graduate of East Rutherford High School where he was listed in Merrick's Who's - Who of American High School Students. He served a four year enlistment in the United States Navy and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for a period of time before enrolling at North Carolina State University where he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering.

Robert worked for Texas Instruments for many years and was a talented engineer.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl W. Gammon.

Survivors include his mother, Pauline Deal "Polly" Gammon, his wife, Karen of Rutherfordton, step-son, Scott Bailey, his brother, John W. Gammon and wife Haley of Forest City as well as nieces and nephews, Ben & Emily Gammon, Lauren, Maeven, and Erin Gammon.

A memorial service was held in The Padgett and King Chapel. Interment was private and held in the Cool Springs Cemetery.
