Robert Jack Smart, age 86

Robert Jack Smart, age 86 of Forest City passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017.

Jack was born February 15, 1931 in Rutherford County and was son of the late Edgar and Sadie Van Horn Smart. He was a graduate of Cool Springs High School, a longtime member of Faith Baptist Church and retired from Mastercraft Corporation. Jack also served his country in the United States Army and in the Army National Guard Reserve.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Lee Smart in 2011 as well as brothers, Ernest Smart, George Smart, John Henry Smart, Edgar Alonzo Smart, Jr., sisters, Ruth Smart Padgett, Frances Smart Moore, Eula Reid Smart Bradley and a special nephew, John Smart.

He is survived by his loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services were held in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Chad Roach officiating. Interment followed in the Cool Springs Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
