Robert Maurice Sane, age 93

Robert Maurice Sane, age 93, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Thursday June 11, 2015.

He was the son of the late Samuel Walter Sane and the late Minnie Young Sane. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Neal Sane, brothers; Marion, Chris, Virgil Sane and two infant sisters.

He is survived by his wife Irene Hester Sane of 68 years, children; Carole Sane Robbins and husband Bruce of Forest City, NC, David Sane and wife Anysea Haggard Sane of Daleville, Va, Steve Sane and wife Barbara Huskey Sane of Rutherfordton, NC, and Doug Sane and wife Barbara Benefield Sane of Denver, NC. 16 Grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Two brothers, Charles Sane of Mooresboro and Frank Sane of Rutherfordton.

Maurice is a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church, retired textile worker and appliance repair serviceman. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. His tour of duty included service in Normandy, France and North Africa.

Funeral services were held at Mountain Creek Baptist Church. Concluding services were held in the church cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

Crowe's Mortuary will be assisting the family of Maurice Sane.
