ROC leads river cleanup

The Rutherford Outdoor Coalition recently lead a group of volunteers in removing a truckload of trash from three sections of the Broad River in Rutherford County. Tires, a metal barrel and lots of cans were removed. Many of the participants are part of the ROC's River Stewards program, which allows people who are passionate about protecting rivers a chance to adopt a river section and help keep it clean and clear of debris throughout the year. Another river clean up is planned for spring 2016.
