Roger Stanley Robinson, Sr., age 85

Roger Stanley Robinson, Sr., age 85 of Bostic, North Carolina died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Hospice House of Forest City. Roger was born September 30, 1930 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Frank and Eddie Fish Robinson. He was the maintenance and groundskeeper at South Mountain Christian Camp from its inception and was devoted to the camp and its campers. He also served in the National Guard and was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. Roger was preceded in death by his brothers, Frankie, Vaughn, and Jack Robinson and a sister, Susie Smart.

Survivors include his wife, Edna S. Robinson, sons, Douglas Robinson and Michael Robinson both of Maiden, Stanley Robinson, Jr. and wife Laura Rutherfordton, Tony Robinson and wife Luann of Mooresville, NC, daughters, Debbie Carter and husband Jeff of Newton, Jean Robinson and Judy Robinson both of Bostic and a step-daughter, Pat Crain and husband Donnie of Rutherfordton, a brother, Paul Robinson of Bostic and sisters, Bernice Goode of Maiden, Betty Lattimore and Reba Lattimore both of Rutherfordton, and Judy Jones of Ellenboro as well as a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Paul White and Reverend Billy Honeycutt officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Willow Ridge Patient Activity Fund, 237 Tryon Road, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
