Ron P. Kennedy, age 51

Ron P. Kennedy, age 51, of Ellenboro, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017.

Born December 21, 1965 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Lelanie Williamson Kennedy and Ronald Lee Kennedy who resides in Caroleen. Ron was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1984. He owned and operated the B & R. shipping services for twenty-five years and served as a trooper on the North Carolina State Highway Patrol for thirteen years. Ron was of the Catholic faith and attended the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed classic cars, collecting firearms and was an avid Sci-Fi fan.

In addition to his father, those left to cherish his memory include, one son, Patrick Scott Kennedy and wife, Katie Elizabeth of Newton; sister, Maureen Evans and husband, David of Ellenboro and a grandson. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends was held to honor his memory at the Harrelson Funeral Home.
