Ronnie Jones, age 69

Ronnie Jones, age 69, of Forest City, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017.

He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late C.F. Jones. Ronnie was a U.S. Airforce Veteran of the Vietnam War and past Commander of The American Legion Post 74 in Forest City. He played American Legion baseball and loved to coach baseball at all levels in his younger days. He was also a member of the Forest City Masonic Lodge and loved his dog Little Cricket. He was preceded in death by one step-son Brian Christopher James. Ronnie is survived by his mother Jesse Jones.

He is also survived by his wife: Marilyn Godfrey Jones. One daughter: Kellianne Jones. Two step-sons: Brandon James and wife Jackie. Shawn James and wife Buffy. One sister: Cricket Jones. Two brothers: Freddie Jones and wife Kim. Scott Jones. Eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was held at Rutherfordton City Cemetery with military honors given by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Rutherford County Humane Society at 115 Reservation Dr. Spindale, NC 28160.
