Roy Higgins Bennett, age 82

Roy Higgins Bennett, age 82, of Rutherfordton passed away Monday, March 26, 2018.

He was the son of the late William Volney Bennett and the late Mary Belle Davis Bennett and widower of Jacquelyn Roberts Bennett. He was a native of Rutherford County and went to Gilkey School. Roy was in the U. S. Army from 1956 to 1958 and served in Germany where he worked in chemical supplies. He graduated from Forsyth Community Technical College. Roy worked as a supervisor at A C Corporation until retirement. He was a faithful member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. Roy loved the Lord, his family and his church family. They were a blessing to him. Roy was an honorable man of integrity. He could say more without speaking words than most anyone. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all and would help anyone in need. His love was unconditional.

He is survived by: One Daughter: Connie Roberts Durham and her husband Louis Hal Durham. Two Sons: Guy David Roberts and his wife Carla. Gregory Lee Roberts and his wife Vickie. One Sister: Dorothy M. Brown. Five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

The Funeral service was held at Fellowship Holiness Church. Rev Leon Brown and Rev Bobby Brown officiated. Interment followed at the Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
