Roy Sutton, age 90

Roy Sutton age 90 of Spindale, passed away Wednesday April 17 2013.

He was a native of Cherokee County, a retired textile worker, and a WWII Army Veteran.   While in the Army he was awarded two Bronze Service Stars, a Good Conduct medal, a Bronze Star medal, and a World War 2 Victory Medal.

Roy was the son of the late John Foster Sutton and Vernie Green Epley.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ann Yelton Sutton, daughter Norma Green, and one grandson Christopher Sutton.
Left to cherish his memory are his nine children, Steve (Ellen) Sutton of Kentucky, Alice (Bruce) Ballard of Statesville, Patricia (Joey) Smith of Forest City, Karen (Clay) Kearns of Rutherfordton, Teresa Sutton of Spindale, Joy (Bobby) Wood of Kings Mountain, Connie (Don) Crapps of Spartanburg, Lynn Sutton of Spindale, Brian Sutton of Spindale; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; Sister Louise Sutton Hite of Falls Church, VA.

A memorial service was held at Main Street Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Main Street Baptist Church.
