Rutherford Regional Health System (RRHS) held a Mammography Day for Rutherford County School employees on August 4, 2014. A block of appointments were set aside specifically as an effort to accommodate the schedules of educators and staff.

The Mammography Place was fully decorated with pink and blue balloons in front of the outdoor sign as well as the waiting area, which featured a table of refreshments that included cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, and water accented with fruit.

“It is such an important measure to take to help with prevention,” said Alicia Clinton, Rutherford County School pre-school teacher of 18 years. “I appreciate Rutherford Regional Health System for providing this opportunity for the teachers and educators with Rutherford County Schools.”

Sharon Elliott of The Mammography Place said, “Rutherford Regional was so proud to be able to set aside a special day for those who work to serve our children. For all the teachers, counselors, and support staff who took part, we were honored to make this day possible.”

Mammography screening plays a crucial role in the early detection of breast cancer, which means treatment can be started earlier in the course of the disease, possibly before it has spread.  If you would like more information, or to schedule an appointment for a mammogram, call 828-286-5674.
