Ruby Champion Pegram, age 79

Ruby Champion Pegram, age 79, of Ellenboro, NC, passed away April 9, 2014.

Born August 6, 1934 in Alamance County, NC, she was a daughter of the late William G. Champion and Callie Mae Prawell Champion. Ruby worked in textiles most of her life and was a Baptist.  She was an AKC registered dog breeder and enjoyed flower gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey P. Pegram, Jr. and two sisters, Peggy Dover and Virginia Dover.

Survivors include daughter, Ellen Hoppes of Ellenboro; three sons, Keith Pegram, Scott Pegram and wife, Lori and Rodney Pegram all of Ellenboro.  She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was conducted at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend William Swink officiating.
