Rupert Edward Howard, 79, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 6, 2017.

Rupert was born on May 11, 1937 to the late Paul Edward & Mary Jolley Howard. He attended Wofford College and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the 1950s.

Rupert was a life long member of Adaville Baptist Church and was dedicated to serving his church family for whom he had much love and appreciation. The Adaville church family loved Rupert and helped him in so many ways. Rupert is survived by his sisters, Lynda Trexler & Lydia Howard along with 2 nephews, Bryan & Kent Trexler, all in Greensboro, NC.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Nana's Assisted Living and the wonderful people of Adaville Baptist Church.

A memorial service was held at Crowe's Mortuary with Reverend Jonathan Cobb officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the Howard family asks that memorial contributions be made to Adaville Baptist Church, 805 Oakland Road, Spindale, NC 28160.

Crowe's Mortuary & Crematory is assisting the family.
