Russell Max Higgins, 64

Russell Max Higgins, 64, of Bostic, passed away September 12, 2017.

A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Max Higgins and Jewel Harrill Higgins. Russell was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church, Bostic, and a 1972 graduate of East Rutherford High School. He worked for AGI from 1972 until 2008 when he became disabled and could no longer work. Russell enjoyed his grandchildren, Buckshot his dog, hunting, fishing, and trains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, and sister-in-law, Marty Higgins.

Survivors include his wife Reita Murray Higgins, of the home; a son, Brian Russell Higgins, of the home; a daughter, Sonya Higgins Gowan Tate and husband Norris, of Forest City; a brother, Ronnie Higgins of Ellenboro; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Sandy Level Baptist Church with Rev. Hubert Street and Rev. Robert Hensley officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
