Ruth Bright, age 83

Ruth Bright, age 83, of Forest City, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017.

Born January 21, 1934 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Gene Melton and Sarah Irene Bridges Melton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Freeman Guffey; second husband, George Clifford Hollifield; third husband, Wilbert Bright; sister, Evelyn London; and stepson, George Hollifield, Jr.

She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Kimberly Tesseneer and husband Mike, Kip Hunt and husband William; four brothers, David Melton and wife Thelma, Bill Melton and wife, Evelyn, Jerry Melton and wife Ann, Steve Melton and wife Gay; two sisters, Carolyn Luckadoo and husband Charles, Ann Russ and husband Wayne; two step-children, Teddy Hollifield and Carol Schultz. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kevin Rohm officiating. Interment will be private for the family.
