Ruth Turner Shirlen, of Mint Hill, NC (formerly of Spindale)

Ruth Turner Shirlen, of Mint Hill, NC (formerly of Spindale) passed into heaven on August 11, 2017.

She was the daughter of the late William Melton and Ellie Beatrice Haney Geoff and was preceded in death by William L. Turner, James Shirlen and Willie Owens. Ruth was a long time resident of Spindale, a native of Gaston County and was a member of Adaville Baptist Church.

A woman of great faith, impeccable character, sweet charm and boundless energy; and a loving steadfast mother to Michael (Judi) Turner, Elaine (William) Boone, Sheliah Owens, Bennett (Robin) Turner, Timothy (Suellen) Turner and Sarah (Stuart) Saunders. Five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at Crowe's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jonathan Cobb officiating. Burial will be private at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Her place in our hearts will never be diminished. Flowers are welcomed or donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
