Nine bags of trash were recently removed from the Rail Trail by Rutherford Outdoor Coalition volunteers. Volunteers, including Fred Matthews and Bill and Elizabeth Parke (shown with Dana Bradley) donated their time to help clean the trail, and members of the community help pick up trash on a regular basis as well. The trail is available for use by all ages. Another clean up of the Rail Trail is planned for the fall, and volunteers who would like to get involved may contact Dana Bradley at trails@rutherfordoutdoor.org or call 828-625-9983 ext. 505. Information about activities, membership benefits and more can be found online at rutherfordoutdoor.org or on the organization's Facebook page.
