Rutherford Regional Health System

   Angie Welch, PA-C, has joined Rutherford Children’s Care, located at 162 Commercial Drive, Forest City. Rutherford Children’s Care is owned and operated by Rutherford Regional Health System and also features Dr. Jerald DeLaGarza. 

   Welch past experience is at Carolina Pediatric Associates in Blacksburg, S.C., where she was a physician assistant and examined, diagnosed and treated patients from birth to age 21 in an outpatient setting. She is a 2004 graduate of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C., with a bachelor of science in Biology and a 2007 graduate of Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston with a master of science in Physician Assistant. 

   Welch is a member of American Academy of Physician Assistants and South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants. Her published research includes “Mental Health Disorders in Primary Care Pediatrics” in 2007. 

   Rutherford Children’s Care is open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon, and is currently accepting new patients. For an appointment, call 828-287-9325.
