Outpatient dental surgery for pediatric and adolescent patients is now available at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. 

Dr. William Chambers, a board certified pediatric dentist, will be performing dental restorative and oral surgical care along with orthodontic space maintenance and primary tooth pulp therapy. These services are offered within a medical center in order to provide a general anesthesia management approach for dental care, which is often needed for patients with certain physical or medically compromising conditions; patients who are extremely anxious, fearful, uncooperative or uncommunicative with dental needs that are deemed necessary; and patients with dental needs where local anesthesia is ineffective due to acute infection, anatomic variations or an allergy exists. 

Dr. Chambers, a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, has been providing outpatient and inpatient dental care for more than 30 years in Western North Carolina. He is on staff at Mission Hospital in Asheville, CJ Harris Hospital in Sylva and McDowell Hospital in Marion. He is an adjunct faculty member for the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, and is past president for the N.C. Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Buncombe County Dental Society.  Dr. Chambers is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, N.C. Dental Society, Buncombe County Dental Society, the Western North Carolina Dental Society and the Southeastern Pediatric Dental Society.
