Sarah Whitaker, age 82

Sarah Whitaker, age 82, of Forest City, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017.

Born May 15, 1934 in Cherokee County, SC, she was a daughter to the late Charlie and Julie Thrift. Sarah was a member of Florence Baptist Church and retired from Doncaster and Tanner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Whitaker; sister, Marie Scruggs; and a brother, Willie Thrift.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Glenda Johnson and husband Bruce; two sisters, Rose Lee Bostic and husband Yates, Margaret Lovelace; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted at Florence Baptist Church w/Rev Bobby Gantt officiating. Interment followed in Eternal Hills Cemetery.
