Scott Spencer Whitaker, age 39

Scott Spencer Whitaker, age 39, of Charlotte, formerly of Forest City, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019.

Born July 1, 1980 in Asheboro, NC, Scott is the son of Lucinda Weedman Craven of Greensboro and the late David Spencer Whitaker. He was a graduate of Asheboro High School, class of 1998 and attended Randolph Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and attended Campfield Memorial Baptist Church on a regular basis. He was the vice president of sales and operations at College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Inc. in Charlotte. In 2017, Scott proudly graduated from TROSA in Durham. He displayed great loyalty to his family and friends and was a loving brother and son.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his son, Elijah Spencer Shifflett of Tampa, Florida; one sister, Laura Whitaker Linder and husband, David of Forest City. He is also survived by two nieces, Katie Linder and Roxanne Linder.

A memorial service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel.
