Sharon Toney Newton, 62

Sharon Toney Newton, 62, of Ellenboro, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2015. 

She was born on March 14, 1952 a daughter of the late Grady Toney and Mary Louise Luckadoo Toney. She was a homemaker and member of Campfield Memorial Baptist Church. She worked in the church nursery for 25 years, taught Vacation Bible School, Mission Friends and sang in the church choir. She always thought of others before herself.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Dr. Eddie House, MD. She is survived by her husband, Lemmie Newton, Jr.; two sisters, Betty T. Davis and husband B.J. of Rutherfordton and Gail T. House of Greenville, SC; 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 great nephews, and 1 great-great nephew.

Funeral services were held at Campfield Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Huffman and Rev. Joey Cantrell officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
