Shirley Edwards Holland, age 80, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

Born Sunday, March 28, 1937 in Spartanburg County, SC, she was a daughter to the late Dewey Dock Edwards and Annie Trout Edwards. Shirley was a graduate of Harris High School, class of 1955 and attended Cecil's Business College in Spartanburg. She had a long career as a legal secretary while working at the Robert Harris Law Firm. Shirley was a member of Sandy Mush Baptist Church and an avid reader.

Those left to cherish her memory include two brothers, Bobby Gene Edwards and wife, Tammy of Tallahassee, Florida and Clark Edwards and wife, Sharon of Forest City; two sisters, Joyce Hutchins of Forest City and Mary Wall and husband, Howard of Starr, SC. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews, which includes a special nephew, Edward Hutchins of Forest City.

A graveside service was conducted at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are respectively requested to Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
