High School Baseball

R-S Central (7-1, 6-1)- They split with East Rutherford last week, overcoming a two-run deficit in the final inning to win in walkoff style.

East Rutherford (3-5, 3-4) They split with R-S Central, shutting them out at the first of the week.

Chase (1-6, 1-7) They lost two close games this past week to Shelby. That is the fourth game this season which they have lost by three runs or less.

Softball

R-S Central (8-2, 6-1) They won two out of three this past week which included splitting with East Rutherford.

East Rutherford (6-4, 4-3) They have rebounded to climb back to third and stand two games behind first place R-S Central.

Chase (6-2, 5-2) They beat Shelby by a combined score of 20-1 this week. No wonder they are doing so well. Faith Harrill has a 1.43 ERA and they have a team batting average of.346. Chase is also second in conference.

Ladies Soccer

R-S Central (5-2) Morgan Hill, Mackenzie Hamrick and Kenley Wilson all have scored 10 goals or more so far this season.

East Rutherford (2-3-2) It was a slow start, but East hasn't lost in it's last three outings.

Chase (2-2-1) They might be the most defensive team coming into Conference play. Chase has allowed just 10 goals, but only three in the last three games.

Thomas Jefferson (4-5-1) They have lost three in a row during the toughest part of the schedule. However, they could win out if things go right in the remaining eight games.

NCAA Tourney

There are no more ACC teams left as Duke and Florida St. fell in the Elite Eight. If someone would have told me that FSU and Clemson would have been two of the last three ACC teams left in the tourney, I would have lost some money betting. Clemson did a great job of overcoming adversity this season and showed well to win two games in the tourney. FSU just came out of nowhere and played like they belonged, but I knew they weren't the best team in this tourney. Duke was a Grayson Allen bucket away from going back to the Final Four, but it rimmed out in regulation, before losing in overtime. In my initial bracket, I had Villanova and Michigan in the Championship game. It's still possible, but Kansas and underdog Loyola-Chicago are playing as well as anybody right now.

NASCAR

Unfortunately, it's tough to talk about Martinsville when a snow storm decides to invade the place. Since the Storm of 1993, there has never been a Cup race postponed due to snow. Since deadline came before the race ended, there isn't much to talk about until next week NASCAR wise.
